1. Buy a Viva Viagem card
Anticipating on using the bus, metro or train a lot? Buy yourself a Viva Viagem card. It’s a reusable card that you can use for public transport throughout Lisbon. You can buy them at every metro or train station and buy credit for public transport.

2. Stay in a hostel
If you don’t need a luxurious room during your stay in Lisbon, you should check out the many hostels in the area. Prices can be a cheap as €20 per night, which means you can spend your money on other things like tours and musea.

3. Buy a Lisboa card
Other than the Viva Viagem card, you also have the option to buy a Lisboa card. It’s a citypass that grands you access to public transport, musea and other facilities, for one or multiple days.

Bairro Alto is the district to be if you’re looking for good food, good wines and a lot of fun. We grabbed a table at Maria do Carmo, located at a little square with music and entertainment and the dinner was de-li-cious.

2. Sintra

After our day trip to Sintra and walking around all day long, we were very hungry. Luckily we found Tascantiga, located in Sintra. A cozy restaurant with tasty tapas dishes.

3. Pastéis de Belém

Want to try local pastries while visiting Lisbon? Try the famous pastéis de nata at Pastéis de Belém. There can be quite a waiting queue, but it’s totally worth it!

1. Sintra

Visit the royal palaces of Sintra and enjoy a luxurious atmosphere. There are a lot of beautiful things to see in Sintra, so be sure to spend a whole day here.

2. Palace of Quelez

The Palace of Quelez is located just outside of Lisbon, but is definitely worth a trip. Both the inside and outside are beautiful and you’ll be able to wander around for hours.

3. Praça do Comércio

Located at the waterside of Lisbon you can find the enormous Praça do Comércio. It’s grand arcades and beautiful structures will make you feel humble.
